About the Society
With the effort of great zeal and devotion of a group of people mostly in relation to teaching, research and allied activities in the field of vas and ever expanding subject Chemistry, the Tripura Chemical Society was established in 27th day of April, 1986 and later on it was registered on 17th day of April, 1987 under the section of societies registration act 1860. The initial address of the society was department of Chemistry, Calcutta University PG centre, Agartala – 799004. Since the year 1996, the society is running under a temporary establishment at Department of Chemistry, M.B.B. College, Agartala – 799004.
The society aims at functioning as a linking bridge between the chemists as well as the interested persons in chemical sciences of school, college, University and different scientific organizations in the cultivation of chemistry and chemical technology.
CHEMISTRY APTITUDE TEST (CAT)
In 1996, the society started conducting an examination named as “Chemistry Aptitude Test” (CAT) for the students of different schools as Stage – I for class IX and X
Awards
Besides the awards in CAT Stage – I and Stage – II, some other prizes and certificates are being given to the successful candidates in various competition organized time to time by Tripura Chemical Society.
Publication
Society publishing it’s annual general buletin as ‘Bulletin of Tripura chemical Society’ & brought out the first volume in the year 1993. Since then it is being published biennially mostly with the research papers.
